Angkringan Lik Man's Famous Address Tugu Jogja

Some of you who frequently visit Jogja and Central Java tourism are certainly familiar with the name "Angkringan", in general you can find Angkringan with the characteristics of a small two-wheeled wagon on top of which uses tarpaulin tents as its roof. Angkringan is often regarded as a cool hangout with cheap food prices, because this is as the name implies, angkring in Javanese is usually called nangkring which means to sit relaxed.

The menu offered at Angkringan are all the same and unique. A must-have menu is Sego Kucing (Cat Rice), this rice is usually wrapped in chili sauce with chunks of fish or dried tempeh. In addition, other Angkringan menus usually consist of mendoan, tofu, bacem tofu, bacem tempeh, quail eggs, intestine satay, conch satay, chicken head, chicken feet, until boiled noodles. And for drinking there is usually ginger milk, ginger drink, sweet tea, orange juice, and coffee.

Angkringan Jogja was first spearheaded by Mbah Pairo around 1950. Mbah Pairo himself was a migrant from Cawas, Klaten, Central Java. Starting from the dry season which usually hit the Cawas area, causing a lot of unproductive land to meet daily needs. Finally, Mbah Pairo tried his luck to the Special Region of Yogyakarta.

Unlike the Angkringan warung that you now find with the characteristics of the cart and tent, Mbah Pairo started the Angkringan business by using a pikulan. When Mbah Pairo was selling, Angkringan was known as ting ting hik (read: Hek). This is because when peddling his wares, sellers go around shouting "hiiiik ... iyeeek". The purpose of the term hik is Kampung Special Cuisine. The current term "Hik" is still commonly found in the Solo Area, but in Yogyakarta many people know him as "Angkringan".

Until finally many people called Mbah Pairo as a pioneer of Angkringan Jogja. Then, around 1969 the Angkringan business that he had managed was bequeathed to his son named Lik Man.
